Qing dynasty wooden Chinese wedding bed / opium bed, dated late 19c-early 20c. Interior features painted panels (including ceiling) and drawers below a shelf set at the back. Includes both carved decorative design alongside painted and gilt decorative figures, creatures and auspicious and good-luck symbols. Formed of interlocking and pegged panels. A modern-day red velvet made-to-measure mattress is included.
Overall condition is excellent for age.
